For Love & Affirmation!
Sign The Declaration

Is it love to deny someone the one dream that pervades the minds of so many young adults who, with great anticipation and hope, look toward a future with their own spouses and families? —The Rebuttal

The Manhattan Declaration has received hundreds of thousands of signatures. We believe that many
of these people are well-intentioned, based upon their understanding of Scripture; yet, they are sorely misinformed as to
what the Bible does and does not say about homosexuality.
Through the Affirmation Declaration, we want to show the world that there are more Christians who
stand for love and affirmation, than there are who stand for antiquated perceptions that have been obsolete for over a
thousand years.
But we cannot do this without you!
Let's show the world that love always wins! Let's drive our numbers to the sky. Even though they've had a 2.5 week head
start, we can surpass them if we work together, determined to prove that there are more of us than there are of them.
Here's how YOU can help...
- Send an email to all of your affirming Christian friends.
People can't sign a declaration that they haven't heard about. If you take just a few minutes to contact everyone in
your address book (which can be done through a single email), letting them know about AffirmationDeclaration.org, you
can greatly help us reach our goal of far-surpassing the Manhattan Declaration.
- Send a message to all of your Facebook friends.
Social networking has never made it easier to spread the word about something you're passionate about. By sending a
message to all of your affirming friends on Facebook and other social networks, we're sure to see an exponential
growth in the number of signatures we receive.
- Tweet about signing the Affirmation Declaration.
If you're on Twitter, don't forget to tweet about signing the Declaration, pointing your followers to the
site.
- Blog about the Declaration.
If you have your own Blog, feel free to Blog about us. Not only will it increase exposure through your Blog's visitors,
but linking to our site wil also increase our search engine rankings, resulting in even more exposure to our
cause.
- Spread the fire through word-of-mouth.
Although the Internet has surely changed how we communicate, word-of-mouth still works like a charm. Call your friends
on the phone, or mention it to them when you meet at the bowling alley later.
- Inform gay-affirming churches in your area.
What better source of support is there than local congregations who support equality? We know for a fact that local
pastors are asking their members to log on and sign the Manhattan Declaration. There's no reason we in the gay-affirming
Christian community cannot do the same. And don't just limit it to your local congregation. Feel free to draft a letter
to any other congregations in your area, or contact us with the churches' information and we'll invite them to the
site.
- Contact online and offline media outlets.
If you know of any media outlets that are interested in matters related to sexual orientation, please let them know
about what we're accomplishing here—pushback against religious tyranny and a stand for what Christ taught and
demonstrated throughout His earthly ministry.
